  1. README file for HPMAC.ZIP prepared 11/1/91 by Randy Brook. The
  2. author's DOC file is in WordPerfect 5.1 format, not readable by any
  3. BBS ZIP viewer.

  5. HPMAC is a set of three WordPerfect 5.1 macros to create HP
  6. Laserjet macros, a useful by rarely used feature of Laserjets
  7. starting with the Plus model.

  9. A Laserjet macro can be any text or graphics, which you store in
  10. the LJ memory instead of downloading each time it's needed.  For
  11. example, if one creates a letterhead with a graphics logo plus
  12. text, one can store that letterhead in LJ memory as Macro #nnn and
  13. then insert a an HP macro code to have it print when desired.  For
  14. example, my office's logo, printed on every letter, is normally a
  15. 20k download.  As an LJ macro, it takes only a few characters to
  16. have it print out.

  18. HPMAC automates the process of creating and calling LJ macros. 
  19. I've tested it on a "Laserjet compatible" Mannesmann printer, and
  20. it works nicely.
